Meet our luxury rental Madrid Salamanca VELAZQUEZ VIII
The ‘Barrio de Salamanca’ continues surprising us with properties like this one. Without giving up the beauty of its centenary and emblematic houses, it offers homes where design, style and comfort blend with the elegance and strength of the early twentieth century.
On the second floor of a beautiful building sits this apartment, whose living room occupies the chamfer of the building itself, with a long balcony running along the facade; with beautiful views onto the streets of ‘Velázquez’ and ‘Diego de León’.
Thanks to the width of these two streets, the property gets plenty of natural light all day long.
The original elements have been reworked with contemporary finishings leading to a stunning result: modern grey-stained wood floor, bathrooms finished in polished concrete, a fully equipped modern kitchen with a kind of slate paneling covering cabinets and appliances; wardrobes and doors lacquered in satin white; and ornamental elements that put that warm touch: linen curtains, wonderful original Persian kilims, sculptural iron & wood bookstores …
With a surface of 150 square meters, it offers a very interesting floor plan. A cozy lobby, dressed in a rich velvet curtain on the right and a large closet on the left leads to the living room, whose original wood windows are very shocking.
On the left is the dining room, separated by sliding doors.
The spacious lounge offers three ambiences: the sitting area consists of a comfortable sofa topped with a collection of pictures and flanked by iron tables with slender lamps; an overstuffed single sofa and a nice leather chair complete this gathering area, around a large table in brass and old mirror, which enhances the light in the room and brings in a touch of glamor.
Next to the large window, a splendid armchair accompanied by an original lamp creates the ideal reading corner.
And finally, the sculptural bookcase (divided into two parts around the sliding door), which boasts a funcional working table.
The dining area features a solid hardwood table, accompanied by six upholstered chairs. Behind stands a golden iron bookcase which also functions as a ‘buffet table’. A modern chandelier completes this cozy and elegant atmosphere.
In addition, a large fitted cupboard (ideal for storing kitchen and table utensils) completes this space.
The large velvet portiere of the hall hides the hallway which leads to the kitchen and the private part of the house.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all kinds of large and small household appliances (including washing machine, dryer and dishwasher) and offers varied utensils for six diners. A large window allows excellent ventilation. In addition, a bar for frugal meals with capacity for four people.
The master bedroom offers a generous size. It has a kingsize bed – 180 x 200 – (which can be divided into two beds of 90 on request). It has two windows to the balcony, which multiplies the natural light inside. Next to one of them, a beautiful chair accompanied by a couple of coffee tables, is ideal for relaxing moments. Apart, big fitted wardrobes and a cute working corner complete the equipment of this suite. A large en-suite bathroom – finished in a modern gray polished concrete – features two sinks, bathtub, shower and bidet.
The guest bedroom boasts two single beds – 90 x 200 – which, like the master bedroom, have a chest under the mattress, allowing the storage of large objects, and multiplying therefore the storage space. These beds could be joined on request to provide a double bed (kingsize). It has also direct access to the balcony and a large fitted wardrobe.
Opposite is the second bathroom, which also functions as a powder room. It is equipped with bathtub (with shower facility) and bidet, which is hidden with the toilet behind a wall for more privacy.
The property has hot water and heating by individual natural gas, high speed wi-fi and digital cable television, intercom and the services of a concierge on weekdays.
The apartment is surrounded by all kind of shops and services, like the popular ‘Mercado de Diego de León’ (excellent fresh food), as well as several supermarkets. Furthermore, a wide and varied list of restaurants are just around, converting it into one of the most lively areas of Salamanca district. However, it remains fairly quiet since it has no pubs or discos nearby.
It is indeed a privileged location, with the ‘Amercican Embassy’ just besides, the prestigious ‘IE Business School’ within walking distance, the ‘Paseo de la Castellana’ (major financial center of Madrid) down the road and ‘María de Molina’ street – the fast-track access to Barajas airport – just there.
‘Fusion of eras in perfect balance is what we find in this delightful home, which offers all that the most demanding customer can wish’
